Marissa and Michael Morgan opened the school on the 3rd May 2005 and the school was granted Approval status as an Independent Special School on Monday 19th March 2007. Small Haven School is in the pleasant seaside town of Ramsgate, Kent. As an Independent Day School it accepts referrals from the ‘home’ authority of Kent (KCC) taking in children from both East Kent and Mid Kent. It also serves a wide number of LEA’s who have looked after children placed in the East Kent locality.

Until very recently Small Haven School was known as “Brewood Middle School”. It was decided to change its name after it became fully independent from a previously associated organisation with a school that has a similar name.
