Special Educational Needs
Our objectives and principles in making provision for students with special educational needs are:-
- Each student is given access to a broad and balanced curriculum including the National Curriculum, Religious Education and PSHCE. Where appropriate the curriculum will be differentiated to take account of specific learning needs and to allow support for individual academic and personal development.
- To follow the special needs of each student, as identified in his/her EHCP or through school based assessment if the child is not statemented.
- To provide individual personal support programmes that are regularly reviewed. Staff training in the management of students with special educational needs is ongoing. Emphasis is on recognizing and rewarding positive behaviour.
The School's SEN Policy provides a plan for the whole school and for individuals to ensure that the above objectives are met. Under the direction of the principal head, staff work collaboratively to attain these objectives.
