Anti-Bullying Week

Anti-Bullying Week was held in November, which consisted of a range of activities within class to educate students on bullying.

Within this week was Odd Socks Day, where students were invited to attend school in odd socks to encourage them to express themselves, celebrating their individuality and what makes us all unique. It was a big success, thank you Mr Gwyther for organising it all!

Children in Need

We would like to thank our Small Haven Community for helping us raise £200 for Children in Need.

Home-School Meeting

This term marked the first home-school meeting of the academic year. It was a lovely chance for parents and carers to get together in an informal environment with Miss White over tea and biscuits. It was great to get some feedback and suggestions on topics including our events, access arrangements and website. Minutes are enclosed with this newsletter.

If you were unable to make the meeting but have any suggestions or thoughts, please email Jodie.

The next home-school meeting will be on Wednesday 11th March at 2.30pm.

Swimming event

Following our success in swimming competitions over the previous year, our year 6-9 students took part in the U14 National Panathlon Swimming Finals, held at London Aquatics Centre Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. It was a great experience for students to swim in an Olympic pool and they did so well. Well done everyone!

Surprise!

For the past few weeks we have been plotting, and we managed to surprise Mick and Marissa with a ‘thank you’ assembly to celebrate their 10 years of solely owning the school this month.

As Directors of the school, Mick and Marissa are responsible for making the school everything that it is today. Staff and students are so grateful for their generosity and hard work, and said thank you with a touching video and piece of art.

We look forward to seeing what the next 10 years bring!

Merry Christmas!

Students have been taking part in lots of Christmas activities this week, from making Christmas gifts, to going on class Christmas trips, to cooking a whole Christmas dinner in Sixth Form! Small Haven School would like to wish you and your families a magical Christmas filled with peace, happiness and laughter.
