Fun with Ducklings!

Small Haven had the pleasure of becoming the home to some ducklings for a little while this term!

All of our students were able to watch the first egg hatch live via a Zoom set up, as well as the ducks’ first swimming lesson. They then later visited the ducklings and had the chance to hold and stroke them. It has been an incredible experience for our students, they even made an appearance during our vaccination sessions to calm students who were a little nervous.

We were all very sad to see them go but look forward to welcoming some more eggs back next year!

Red Nose Day

This year, to raise money for Comic Relief, students attended school in non-uniform in exchange for a small donation. Thank you so much for your support, we have raised £58!

The Office also created and hosted a quiz for classes to virtually get together and take part in.

Three of our classes came joint first, and won an afternoon tea in class, made by the office. Well done to Lower School, Nightingale Class and Attenborough Class.

Have You Seen This Dragon?

Nightingale class experienced quite a big disturbance one day this term, in the shape of a dragon! They created a mess in class and bothered the students and staff.

Nightingale class spent their English lessons writing about their experience and interviewing staff about what they saw. They managed to use clues from all of their interviews to make a guess about who the dragon could be. The mystery was solved when the dragon returned on the last day of term. After questioning the dragon, Nightingale class took off their mask to reveal it was Mike all along!

Staff Appreciation Day

Staff Appreciation Day

We had our top secret Small Haven Staff Appreciation Day in the last week of term. This is where we thank our staff for all of the wonderful work they do at school. With the year we have just had, we felt that it was more relevant than ever to do something special for staff to show how amazing we think they are. Usually, Jodie sneaks around the classes and asks students to sign cards. However, with our current bubbles, this wasn’t possible, so we had to enlist the help of our parents, carers and students!

We would like to thank you so much for your help in completing the template with your child, we couldn’t have done it without you! We used these to put together gifts that Miss White and Marissa gave out to staff during class assemblies.
