Term 6 - 2023/24
Happy Summer Holidays!
We would like to thank all of our community for joining us at the celebration assembly and summer fete yesterday. Thanks to your generosity we will be donating £1000 to Bowel Cancer UK. Thank you so much to the companies who donated to our raffle: Next, Hornby Hobbies, Under 1 Roof, Stonelees and Quex Adventure Farm Park.
We hope that you all have a wonderful summer and we look forward to seeing you all again in September.
We would also like to wish our leavers Madison, Ben, Brandon, Joe & Ashton the best, we will miss you a lot but are so excited for your next adventures!
Student Choice Award & Special Achievement Award
Our Student Choice Award and Special Achievement Award are our way of saying thank you to students that have gone above and beyond over the year. The Student Choice Award is chosen by students to highlight who has been a brilliant role model, and the Special Achievement Award is chosen by staff.
Congratulations to Kyan who won the Student Choice Award and Grace who won the Special Achievement Award!
End of Year Trips
Students had a great time on their end of year trips. Classes went to Gravity Trampoline Park, the cinema, McDonalds, Dymchurch Railway and Bugsy’s Bowling.
Olympic Torch Visit
This term, we had Thanet District Council visit with their mascot and Olympic torch! Thank you so much for visiting, the children had a lot of fun.
Refugee Assembly
Kent Refugee Action Network visited our school and brought their youth ambassador, Grmalem, with them. Both staff and students were incredibly moved by the stories we heard. KRAN is clearly an amazing organisation and we are also grateful that there are people in our country who are willing to foster wonderful young people like Grmalem and give them a new chance in life. He has certainly made the most of the opportunities he has been given – so far!
It is so important that the children at Small Haven have these kinds of visits to broaden their own understanding and perception of the world today. Thank you so much KRAN and Grmalem!
Vocational Studies Beach & Park Clean
This term, our Vocational Studies group organised a beach and park clean week. They created posters to go around the school and all classes took part throughout the week. Some students also did some cleaning with their families outside of school!
It was lovely to receive praise and thanks from the public who stopped to chat to us.
Cole’s Football Tournament
We had a Euros-style tournament fantastically organised and run by Cole. Students displayed excellent sportsmanship throughout.
Well done to everyone involved, and thank you Cole!
House Games
