Mike’s 10 Years
This term marked 10 years since Mike started working at Small Haven School! We managed to surprise Mike at the end of an assembly with a video of pictures of his time here, and a card and gifts. Each student and staff member wrote a lovely message for the card, which showed how much of an asset Mike is to the school and how much we all love having him here!
PE used to be a subject a lot of our children didn’t enjoy at old schools and Mike has turned it into many students’ favourite subject. Taking part in the many events Mike organises has a major impact on students’ confidence. Congratulations Mike!
Reading Challenge
This term each class have introduced their own reading challenges/targets to encourage students to read at home. Well done to Logan, Asti, Alfie, Kimarley, Grace and Charlie for completing your challenges!

Small Haven School would like to share some fabulous news with you all. Jodie who works in the office is a wonderful illustrator, she graduated from Kingston University with a degree in illustration animation.
She has been part of Tickled Moon and draws all of the amazing pictures in their wonderful books, which was recently shown on ITVs ‘This Morning’ programme.
So HUGE congratulations to you Jodie on your incredible talent and we hope very much that the books continue to be the success that they are proving to be.

Dancing Event
We want to say a big well done to our students who took part in a virtual dancing competition held by Kent School Games. We are yet to find out who the winners are but have our fingers crossed! We are very proud of you Chloe, Elizabeth, Meliesa and Charlie.
Christmas Card Competition
Our annual Christmas card competition took place this term, with the winners’ cards being professionally printed and sent out to our students’ families and professionals. We had so many amazing designs from our talented students, it was very hard to pick winners! A big well done to Asti in Lower School, Elizabeth in Middle School and Darcy in Upper School.

House Games
Students have been taking part in House Games within their bubbles, with points being added together for each team. You can find Term 2’s results below.
Merry Christmas!
Christmas celebrations have been in full swing at the school, with two Christmas jumper days and fun activities taking place on the last days of term. Our Lower School and KS3 were unable to visit Santa as they usually do this year, so Santa kindly came to them! Staff created a magical winter wonderland grotto and we had a very special visitor!
