Middle School

We have two classes in Middle School at Small Haven – Nightingale and Keller.

Nightingale Class

Middle School - Nightingale Class

“I attribute my success to this, I never gave or took any excuse”.

Florence Nightingale is known for great things. Her compassion, her commitment and her diligence to her work are what makes her such an icon, and allows our class to follow in her footsteps.

Nightingale Class is one of the middle school classes at Small Haven and we aim to grow caring and nurturing individuals, who are each set on achieving their own personal goals. We are a creative group, who will show our learning, our ideas and express ourselves in our own individual way.

We are building friendships, whilst learning both in and outside of the classroom, ensuring to have fun, whilst learning about the world around us.

Nightingale class is taught by Mrs Sydenham and supported by our TA’s Ki and Sam.

Keller Class

Small Haven Middle School

“Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence”.

Keller Class is located within the Middle School at Small Haven. Named after the inspirational Helen Keller, who overcame significant sensory challenges to succeed in her learning and development, this class promotes a ‘can do’ attitude to both academic and social challenges.

We actively use the Growth Mindset philosophy to think more positively about areas we may find difficult in our learning and are supportive and caring towards one another. We like to have fun and work together to create fun and interesting learning experiences that we can all enjoy.

Keller class teacher is Mr Duffy supported by our TA’s Caroline and Kim.
